Since the age of seven, my fascination with weather began after seeing a waterspout on a family vacation in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The power and beauty of that storm captivated and intrigued me. From that day on, during storms, you would be able to find me out on my deck watching the volatility of Mother Nature. I knew exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up, I wanted to be a meteorologist.
I decided to follow my dreams and head to The University of Missouri to pursue a Meteorology degree. I graduated from the University as a double major with a Bachelors degree in Meteorology and Communications in 2008. And in December of 2011, I completed my Masters in Meteorology.
I started my career at KOMU-TV 8 in January 2007 as a fill in weathercaster and moved up in the ranks to serve as the Evening Meteorologist in Columbia, Missouri. While at KOMU, I was recognized by the Missouri Broadcasters Association, where I won Best Weathercast in 2010 and 2012. In addition to several reporting awards, including an Edward R. Murrow and a National SPJ Sigma Delta Chi award, for my hard work and efforts in Joplin, Missouri following the May 22nd tornado.
In September of 2012, I joined Fox 4 as the Mid Morning and Noon Meteorologist. I also earned my Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal (#639) in March of 2014 from the American Meteorological Society You can catch me at 4 am and 9am Monday through Friday, in addition to filling in for Mike, Karli, and Joe. When I am not in front of the green screen, you’ll see me out at sporting events/concerts with my husband Gary, volunteering in the community or running around town with our Doberman Dakota and Great Pyrenees Frank the Tank!
