Molly Balkenbush

Molly joined Fox 4 in September of 2014 as a reporter for the late-night news. She is excited to be back home in the Midwest after spending two years as a reporter, anchor and producer at NBC29 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Before working at NBC29, she was a reporter at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri.

Molly is a proud graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism (Go Tigers!) and loves her St. Louis Cardinals. You can catch her hanging out at area dog parks with her black lab, Avery. Molly was born in St. Louis, MO. and grew up in Edwardsville, IL.

Molly loves that journalism allows her to investigate wrongdoings. She is the recipient of a 2014 National Edward R. Murrow Award for one of her investigations revealing the University of Virginia Hospital mistakenly sent a family home with their deceased loved one’s amputated body parts. She has also been recognized by the Virginia Associated Press for her work.

Working within the vicinity of Washington D.C. granted Molly the opportunity to cover several rallies during the 2012 presidential election. During this time she interviewed former presidential candidate John McCain, former secretary of state Madeleine Albright, as well as democratic supporter and actress Cynthia Nixon.

Molly would love for you to say hello if you see her out and about town working on a story. You can follow her on twitter at @MollyFox4KC or find her on Facebook “Molly Balkenbush Fox4” Do you have a news tip? E-mail Molly at Molly.Balkenbush@wdaftv4.com.
