Love caffeine? You might like “Death Wish Coffee.”
A coffee roaster in upstate New York boasts his creation is the world’s strongest caffeine-laced cup of Joe out there, containing 200 percent more caffeine.
“I had customers come in and say, ‘give me the strongest cup you got,’ and they wanted a darker roast,” said Mike Brown in an interview with Yahoo. Brown owns a coffeeshop in Pleasantdale, N.Y. “I did some research, and I blended the strongest beans in the world from Indonesia, Ethiopia, and South America.”
But there are dangers to drinking too much caffeine. In 2012, the FDA warned consumers about illness and deaths related to energy drinks that contained high amounts of the nerve-jittering ingredient. Guidelines from Consumer Reports indicate a person’s daily caffeine intake should be no more than 400 milligrams.
For those who dare to indulge, a bag of Death Wish Coffee can be purchased on Amazon for $19.99 — where it’s received 5 stars from happy customers.
