‘Tis the season for prom! Lots of teens are getting ready for the biggest night of the year! Picking a great dress is key. Faryle Scott, from Summit Fair in Lee’s Summit, told us about the hottest trends in prom dresses this year.
Trends:
· Mermaid cut
· Long, slinky dresses with embellished backs
· Short, princess style dress
· High-low Hem – flowy chiffon layer
· Accessories: Bling, Color, Rings and Bracelets if dress has an embellished neckline, Headbands, Broaches
· Hot colors: Metallic, Blue, Red and Sparkle
Prom Donation Event
Summit Fair is helping local teen girls have the prom of their dreams by hosting a prom dress donation event Saturday March 30th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Micah’s Boutique.
New and gently used prom-appropriate dresses, jewelry, evening bags, dressy shoes, strapless bras, body shapers as well as new makeup samples will be accepted and donated to Prom Boutique, a community event hosted by Woods Chapel Church in Lee’s Summit. Prom Boutique provides new and gently used prom and bridesmaid dresses to local high school girls who are unable to purchase their own prom dress. Donations are tax-deductible.
Prom Boutique will be open its doors April 2-5 from 3-7 pm and April 6, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church, 4725 NE Lakewood Way in Lee’s Summit.
