Video: Father, son use hovercraft to save deer stuck on ice in middle of lake

It’s a rescue mission that will make animal lovers rejoice.

After seeing a Facebook post about some deer stuck on ice in the middle of Albert Lea Lake in Minnesota, a man and his father hopped in their hovercrafts and went out to find them.

When they located the deer, it was obvious they were exhausted. With their hooves unable to gain traction on the ice, the deer floundered until they fell, their legs sprawled out before them, their bellies pressed against the cold ice. Their rescuers speculated they had been like that for days — and it was time to get them back on land.

With a GoPro camera, the men recorded their rescue mission and later posted it to YouTube where it’s gaining traction. See it below.
