7-year-old with cancer gets to live out wish of riding unicorn over rainbow

PARK HILLS, Mo. – A first grader in Missouri with inoperable brain cancer got to live out her wish to ride a unicorn over a rainbow, in front of everyone at her school last week.

The Daily Journal reported the students and staff of seven-year-old Summer Warren’s school, North County Primary, made her magical wish come true with the help of several from their community.

School principal Emily Bach said when Make A Wish first heard Warren’s wish, the organization didn’t quite know how to grant it. But when her school heard about the wish, they decided to go all out to make it happen for her.

Principal Bach said Warren’s teacher, school art teachers, and volunteers from the surrounding community all came together to turn the school’s gymnasium into a gigantic kingdom, complete with a pink castle and huge rainbow as the floor. She also said another family was kind enough to bring in their horse for free, and commended everyone’s efforts for a job well done.
