And the Oscar Nominees Are…..

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — The 84th Academy Award ceremony is set for Feb. 26. and now the nominations are set, too.

Tuesday morning, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released the nominations and Martin Scorsese’s Paris adventure “Hugo” leads the Academy Awards with 11 nominations followed by “The Artist” with 10 nominations. Both were top films at the Golden Globes.

The Associated Press reports that because of a rule change requiring films to receive a certain number of first-place votes, the best-picture field has only nine nominees rather than the 10 that were in the running the last two years.
