LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — Some metro families got into the Halloween spirit a few days early. On Saturday they walked the streets in their best costumes for the annual Boos, Barks and Badges Halloween Parade in Downtown Lee’s Summit.
“We knew it was going to be a really good day we’ve never been to this parade trick or treating and I thought what a great opportunity,” said mom Mindy Decker.
Her five-year-old son dressed up as Wolverine.
The annual event brings out hundreds of the cutest dinosaurs, fighter pilots, Star Wars characters and scuba divers you’ve ever seen.
Trick-or-treaters go business to business in Lee’s Summits historic downtown. The young at heart get into the spirit too.
“I tried to fit the whole country breakfast and I settled with hotdog instead,” said dad Aaron Shore. “It’s all Royals all the time now so I had to bring some of that out.”
The Lee’s Summit Police and Fire Departments take part in the annual event showcasing a variety of vehicles, their K-9 unit and more.
