ATLANTA — Atlanta Falcons player Roddy White made it clear he was not happy with the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial.
“All them jurors should go home tonight and kill themselves for letting a grown man get away with killing a kid.”
As of 10:30 p.m. Central time, the tweet was still up. (You can view it here.)
Most people seemed to disagree with the tweet, with many retweeting it and adding the Twitter handle of the Commissioner of the National Football League, Roger Goodell, in it.
One Atlanta TV reporter tweeted to White to “put the phone away.”
UPDATE: White sent out a Tweet late Sunday morning apologizing. “I understand my tweet last nite was extreme. I never meant for the people to do that. I was shocked and upset about the verdict. I am sorry,” he said.
