CHICAGO — The Blackhawks are back in the Windy City with the Stanley Cup in hand. Fans greeted the second time champs as their plane arrived at O’Hare International Airport just hours after the team fueled an amazing comeback against the Boston Bruins in Monday night’s game.
Patrick Kane and the Blackhawks were looking for their second Stanley Cup in four years.
After a great pass from Seguin, Kelly scored giving the Bruins a 1-0 lead in the first period. Beginning the second period, Bruins with the lead, their power play was ending. Toews won the faceoff and scored between the legs of Rask to tie up the game.
The game was still tied at the start of the third period after Crawford denied multiple scoring opportunities, totaling 23 saves. Later in the third, game still tied at 1, Krejci worked from behind the net, centering it as Milan Lucic who ricochets the puck off the post getting past Crawford giving the Bruins a 2-1 lead.
With less than two minutes left, Toews slots it to Bryan Bickell who scores evening up the game at 2. Seconds later, the puck deflects off the post to Dave Bolland who puts it in for the lead.
“I still can’t believe that finish. Oh my God, we never quit,” Corey Crawford told Fox News.
Two goals in 17 seconds gave the Blackhawks a 3-2 win and took the series 4-2.
Kane was voted the Conn Smythe Award as Postseason MVP.
