CLARKSDALE, Mo. — Officials in DeKalb County have issued a boil order as the hot, dry conditions have caused a pressure drop in storage tanks.
The boil order covers Public Water Supply District #1 customers in DeKalb County, including about 400 homes. Officials say that the boil order will not be lifted until further notice.
According to officials, the long stretch of hot weather, dry conditions and excessive water use of watering gardens, swimming pools and large cattle operations have made it impossible to maintain water line pressure, and the demand for water has exceeded the district’s ability to replenish water towers and tanks.
In addition to the boil order, the district is asking customers to reduce their water usage.
