SANTA FE, N.M.– The explosive drama “Manhattan” is back. The show kicks off its second season next Tuesday on FOX4’s sister network WGN America.
Los Alamos, New Mexico is a place hidden by the federal government where scientists race to create the world’s first nuclear bomb. But embedded spies and paranoia threaten to destroy the project from within.
“We were so enormously proud of the first season,” creator Sam Shaw said. “But we didn’t want to just come back and recreate the first season. So the challenge and mandate was how do we expand it and make it bigger and more ambitious and more complicated and sexier and dangerous.”
The show follows actor John Benjamin Hickey as Frank Winter, a scientist who begins to question how weapons of mass destruction will be used.
“You left in the last season and at this point, people aren’t sure if you’re coming back,” Benjamin said.
