Family of Man Gunned Down While Running Increases Reward

RAYTOWN, Mo. — The family of a man killed in a random drive-by shooting as he was jogging down the street is trying to generate more leads in the case. They’re hoping some cold hard cash might help find out who killed Harry Stone on Mother’s Day morning.

The shooting happened at 67th and Blue Ridge Blvd., and even though surveillance video from a nearby store caught the suspects on camera, police still have no leads on who is responsible.

“Someone knows something,” said Randy Stone, brother. “It’s not fair that Harry is gone and the killers are still on the streets with their guns.”

Harry’s wife Bobbie Stone said her husband was a good father, a good husband and a good man.

“I don’t believe he’s in a better place because the best place would be with me,” she said.

She now wears his wedding ring around her neck, keeping him close to her heart because she says he was the love of her life. But she misses him. She admits she goes into his closet to fill her hands with his clothes “to get a scent of him.”

Harry’s family is determined to find out who killed him — who the suspects are in the surveillance video. They have raised $2,000 so far for the tips reward fund, and there are plans for fundraisers this summer, including a concert and a trail run. The family knows someone knows something and they hope the reward will offer some incentive.

“We don’t want this to happen to anybody else,” said Randy Stone. “No other family should go through what we’re going through.”

“Ultimately my faith tells me whether or not there is ever judgment on earth, there is judgment,” said Bobbie Stone.

The family said they’ll also be selling green wristbands in Harry’s honor. They will read “Justice for Harry: Do the Right Thing.”
