KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Workers at a Kansas City, Missouri, fast-food restaurant say that they’re thankful nobody was injured after a scary shooting incident left their business full of holes.
Around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday night, the Church’s Chicken at the corner of Prospect and East 12th Street was caught in the crossfire of a gunfight that was caught on surveillance video.
According to the surveillance video, a man wearing a white t-shirt hopped out of the back of a white vehicle and walked around the restaurant towards a sidewalk. Seconds later, a silver vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire on the man, who took cover under the restaurant’s drive through window.
“We have crazy customers, but never shooting,” said manager Victor Rendon. “Man, that was too scary, real bad.”
When the gunfire started, restaurant employee Moneek Neal says the six employees and the customers hit the floor.
“(I) just heard the gunshots and we just got on the floor, make sure everybody was safe,” said Neal.
A total of four bullets hit the business, one of them shattering a window. The gunfight then moved to a nearby apartment building, where two apartments were also shot up. There were no injuries in the incident, and police are still looking for the suspects.
