Former Metro Pastor Arrested on Child Sex Charges

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A former pastor who once helped lead a Kansas City seminary school is accused of sexual assaults four times over – and authorities say that it’s possible there are more victims.

Colorado Springs, Colorado police arrested retired Air Force Chaplain David Grosse, 78, on suspicion of sexually assaulting at least four young victims.

Colorado Springs Police received a report of sexual assault on July 3rd and immediately opened an investigation. Court documents say the alleged assault occurred in 2002 when the victim was younger than 15 years old.

Police say the investigation turned up at least three more victims.

Grosse pastored churches in Connecticut, Kansas, California and Wyoming. Grosse currently lives in Colorado Springs according to his online biography but he has worked in both Kansas City and Lenexa.

After he retired from the Air Force, Grosse was hired as a consultant in adult education for the Headquarters, Church of the Nazarene in Lenexa.

Church of the Nazarene General Secretary David Wilson tells FOX 4 he can’t recall the last time Grosse worked for the Headquarters, but says at no time did Grosse have contact with children while working as a consultant.

Grosse also worked in Kansas City for the Nazarene Theological Seminary where he was the Director of Chaplaincy Education until 1999.

Colorado Springs Police believe there may be more victims, and are asking anyone who knows about others Grosse may have abused to come forward.
