Starting October 1, people can begin picking an insurance plan for 2014 through a health marketplace or ‘exchange’. It’s the place where the uninsured or those who want different health insurance can go to buy insurance.
Starting next year every American will be required to buy health insurance or face a penalty. In the first year it will be $95 or one percent of your income, whichever is higher.
