Girl shares life-changing story in hopes you’ll think twice about texting and driving

A video uploaded to YouTube by the US Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, gives viewers a glimpse into the life of a young lady whose life was forever changed by texting while driving.

Liz Marks was in high school when she became part of a tragic accident, which was caused by her reading a text while driving. The incident left her blind in one eye, and diminished her ability to smell, create tears, fall asleep without medication and hear well. She says the most difficult part of all of it, was going from being very social and popular to being alone, without friends.

The video’s description, written from the perspective of Mark’s mother, reads: “This is the story of how my daughter Liz’s car accident from texting while driving has changed our lives forever. If you get a text, don’t look at it while you’re driving. It’s not worth it.”
