Hundreds of Stan Musial items go up for auction

Stanley Frank "Stan" Musial was and outfielder and first baseman on the St. Louis Cardinals for 22 seasons, from 1941 through 1963. Nicknamed "Stan the Man", Musial is widely considered to be one of the greatest hitters in baseball history.

ST. LOUIS (KTVI)  – He’s considered to be one of the greatest St. Louis Cardinals of  all time.  Stan Musial died last January at the age of 92, and now 400 items from Musial’s personal collection are up for auction.

The collection is filled with many items his family did not even know he had.   Some of the most unique and unusual items up for auction include a 1960s era photo of Musial with President Lyndon Johnson, game-worn jerseys, championship rings, harmonicas, and even a letter from the great Ty Cobb.

The auction lasts through November 9.
