Escaped Ottawa Inmate Captured in Nebraska

MINNEAPOLIS, Kan. —  A man who escaped from the Ottawa County jail is back in custody. Drew Edward Wade was apprehended on Wednesday in North Platte, Nebraska. Wade, 21, was convicted in 2008 of attempted robbery and aggravated battery in Shawnee County.

A total of four inmates escaped from the Ottawa County Jail on Wednesday, April 18. Three of the convicts have been caught. Eric James remains at large.

James, 22, was convicted in 2009 in Anderson County of three counts aggravated burglary and one count kidnapping. He is described as a black male, 5’7″, 180 lbs, with brown eyes and cornrows.

Police are also on the lookout for two vehicles of interest in the escape. The first vehicle of interest is a 2002 Nissan Altima, gold in color, with a license plate of 649-CIC. The second vehicle of interest is a 2005 Chevrolet Venture, tan in color, with a license plate of 854-DZQ.
