KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker charged a 27-year-old Kansas City man with multiple felony charges, including Murder in the 1st Degree, in connection with the July 14 fatal shooting of Javon Looney and another victim.
Justin G. Harrison faces Murder in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 1st Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action.
According to court records filed on Friday, Javon Looney and another shooting victim were found by police at a residence in the 5700 block of E. 39th Street. Witnesses stated a man who exited a green Firebird with a handgun, walked up to victims, exchanged words, and shot the victims several times. He then left in the vehicle. But the vehicle stopped, he got back out and fired more shots. Another witness identified Harrison as the shooter.
Prosecutors have requested a bond of $750,000.
