KCMO Police investigate double homicide, not seeking suspects

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –Two men were found shot to death Saturday afternoon in a unit of a Northland apartment complex.

Kansas City, Missouri Police said they were called to the Northland Passage apartments around 1:00 p.m. Saturday with a report of a shooting

When officers arrived, they found two men dead inside one of the apartments.  They said a woman was also inside the apartment when the shooting occurred.  The woman had non-life threatening injuries and was cooperating with detectives.

At least one neighbor who spoke to FOX 4 News, said he was outside when he thinks he heard what sounded like gunshots.

“I didn’t realize that all of this was happening, but I did hear what sounded like a couple of gunshots followed by a woman’s voice screaming then another gunshot and more screaming,” said Brian Winkeljohn

Police are still conducting their investigation, but said it appears those involved did know each other.  They told FOX 4 News they are not seeking any suspects in the shooting.

Police have not released the names of the two men, but are waiting for the next of kin to be notified.
