Lawyers Ask Congress for Boy Scouts Abuse Policy Audit

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (CNN) — Attorneys suing the Boy Scouts of America are asking Congress to audit the group’s current child abuse policy to “see if they are doing what they say they are doing and if they are effective,” said attorney Kelly Clark.

The Boy Scouts were created through a congressional charter in 1910. The attorneys released Thursday more than 20,000 documents from the Scouts’ “perversion files” about volunteer leaders allegedly sexually abusing boys.
