Loved ones seeking info, suspect in fatal hit-and-run incident

GRANDVIEW, Mo. — It’s been almost two weeks since a car hit and killed Bobby Hays in Grandview. His loved ones met Thursday night to share information they hope can help in the case.

They met near 71 Highway, near 155th street where Hays was killed on September 14th.

Still no word yet on any arrests.

“I give the props out to police for trying. I know that they’re trying, but it gets real aggravating not knowing. It’s hurting all of us and that’s why we still stand here until we do find the person responsible,” said Tim Gilio, who was a longtime friend of Hays.

Since his death, loved ones have been passing out fliers and have made a makeshift memorial. They plan to hang some donated banners all in hopes of bringing Bobby’s killer to justice.

“Bobby would have been standing here for me and I do not believe he would give up. In my heart I know he would have never given up for me and everybody here knows that too. That’s why they’re standing here . That’s the kind of support that he has because that’s the kind of person he was,” said Gilio.
