Man charged after neighbors find camera hidden in their bathroom exhaust fan

PECULIAR, Mo. — A Cass County man was arrested and charged with six felony counts after police say his neighbors found a camera hidden in the bathroom ceiling of their Peculiar, Mo. home.

Gerald Campos, 46, was charged in Cass County with burglary, attempted invasion of privacy, producing meth, possession of child pornography, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of a gun.

According to court documents, on Tuesday, one of Campos’ neighbors, who lives on one side of a duplex and Campos on the other, found a hidden camera wired into her bathroom ceiling exhaust fan.

She shares that bathroom with her husband and three kids. Police say the homeowner traced the camera wire to a hole in the attic wall they share with Campos.

When police searched Campos’ side of the duplex, they say they found a meth lab above a child’s bedroom, child pornography and a 22-rifle.

Campos’ wife and four kids live with him.

According to his Facebook page, Campos is well-versed in electrical wiring. FOX 4’s Macradee Aegerter found he also posts daily pictures from the jobs he works in some of Kansas City’s biggest businesses. Campos’ page also has a post in which he admits he’s really good at being bad and says he lived ‘Breaking Bad’, referring to the TV show about the production of meth.

On Friday, he was in jail on $100,000 bond.
