KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man has been charged in the Oct. 11th cutting of a jogger at Mill Street Park in Kansas City, Mo.
Prosecutors charged Terance E. Green, 45, with first degree assault and armed criminal action for the slashing of a 52-year-old man. Police said Green cut the man as he was jogging in the park shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11. The victim suffered three cuts across his backside that required stitches.
The victim told authorities as he was running the suspect yelled at him, saying, “You want a piece of me?” The victim said “No,” and felt a sting but kept running. A few seconds later the victim realized he had been cut and walked to Saint Luke’s Hospital across the street from Mill Street Park.
When police went to the park to investigate the incident, three witnesses told them they saw Green yelling at people. They said at one point they saw Green make a slashing motion toward the victim.
Police located Green sitting on a park bench. Police said he did not respond to their commands to get on the ground, so officers put him on the ground and arrested him.
Green is being held on $150,000 bond.
