KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A missing Colorado girl has a parent living in the Kansas City area.
Police are searching for 10-year old Jessica Ridgeway after she went missing from her neighborhood in the Denver suburb of Westminster on Friday. Police reports show that Jessica vanished while walking to school that morning. More than 200 people gathered to search for her on Saturday morning.
KDVR-TV in Denver is reporting that Jessica’s father lives in the Kansas City area. That television newsroom reports that he and Jessica’s mother are involved in a child custody dispute. Jessica resides with her mother in Westminster.
An Amber Alert has been in effect since Friday, as law enforcement officials search for Jessica. Westminster Police say they do not believe the father is involved in Jessica’s disappearance.
