Mom Says Paramedics Refused to Take Daughter to Hospital

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Missouri Fire Department in investigating after a metro mom claims that paramedics refused to take her 14-year-old daughter to the hospital.

Felicia Johnson says that her teenage daughter was suffering from a severe migrane and her legs and feet had gone numb. Johnson says that she called 9-1-1, but when the ambulance arrived, the medics refused to take her daughter to the hospital.

“These are people to come to help you here in your home, you called them to get you to better help, they just ignored my baby,” said Johnson.

Johnson says that she ended taking her daughter to the hospital herself, where doctors treated her for a 103 degree fever and low blood pressure.

The KCMO Fire Department is investigating, but says that it’s up to the EMT team on the ambulance on whether they take a patient to the hospital.
