More than 60 people arrested after protesters shut down I-70

ST LOUIS, Mo. — The St. Louis suburb of Ferguson was on edge again in a grim case of déjà vu, Monday

One day after the year anniversary of Michael Brown’s death, police were bracing for more protests and possible arrests.

Protesters shut down I-70 in both directions at the Blanchette Bridge in St. Louis for a half hour during rush hour. The dramatic scene unfolded live during breaking news on FOX 4 News at 5 p.m.

Protestors carrying yellow boxes that said “Ferguson is everywhere” stood with their arms locked. At one point as a driver tried to push through the protesters. They jumped in front of the SUV. One person even kicked in the side of the vehicle leaving a huge dent.

Police moved in.  Some protesters were arrested on the highway, others on the side of the interstate. Police arrested more than 60 people and hauled them away in a bus to the county jail.
