Motorcyclist sitting at stop light struck and killed in KCK

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – A motorcyclist, who had been sitting at a stoplight, was struck and killed by another vehicle who failed to stop behind him.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, the Kansas City, Kan., police department responded to the fatal accident in the 6300 block of Leavenworth Road in KCK. A woman driving a red Ford Taurus, who was also headed east, came up to the light but failed to stop, hitting the motorcyclist into to the truck in front of him.

The motorcyclist died from his injuries at the scene of the accident. One of the three people inside of the truck was taken to the hospital with injuries, and the woman who was in the Taurus was also taken to the hospital with injuries.
