New food items, authentic gear featured at Royals games

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The ballpark experience is never limited to just the baseball game you’ve come to watch.  There are the sights, the sounds, and the smells.

This year, new foods will be making new smells at the K.

Chefs have been perfecting the newest snacks.  One is the boulevard brat by Farmland- who will have a stand at the K.  Another is a pepperjack smoked sausage filled with pulled pork, mac and cheese, bacon and chives.

“It’s great, just absolutely great, just gooey, disgustingly wonderful,” said Erin Wishon, Royals Super Chef.

If you are counting calories, there are a few healthier options including a grilled chicken and avocado sandwich and an Asian salad.

To remember the game you attended with something other than a full stomach, there’s Royals Authentics, a place to get autographed authentic Royals gear.

“Player-issued jerseys signed, player-issued batting helmets signed as well,” said Justin Villarreal.

The store has stadium seats from the old Kauffman Stadium and you can get new Kauffman gear- like a base from the game you attended.

All equipment is certified authentic by MLB standards.

Some of the proceeds from the Royals Authentics store go to Royals charities.
