KCMO woman gives up full-time job to spend more time rescuing animals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A KCMO woman gave up her full-time job so she could spend more time dedicated to saving pets.

Debin was a real estate agent when she decided to follow her passion and create Dogs by Debin, which operates out of Amity Woods Animal Hospital.

“She lives and breathes for the dogs,” Deana Poston Seibold, who volunteers alongside of Debin, said. “She will go out in rain, snow, sleet, hail to the rescue them.”

According to Seibold, Debin will buy products for the animals despite whether she has the money to spend. Seibold said that Debin always puts the animals first and makes sure they have exactly what they need including food, shots and treatment.

Upon returning from rescuing a litter of Chihuahuas, Debin got a big surprise. Seibold and FOX 4 were at the Amity Woods Animal Hospital with $300 to give to her.

“I know where that’s going to go,” Seibold said as she handed Debin the $300. “It won’t be your bank account, it will be for the dogs.”

Without hesitation, Debin said “I’m probably going to walk it right over to the vet and pay it for your medical expenses.”
