Police: 4 Girls in Custody Over Brutal Attack on Disabled Woman

CHESTER, Pa. — Four teenage girls face felony charges in connection to the beating of a 48-year-old mentally-challenged Pennsylvania woman, the video of which was posted on YouTube.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Anye Dennis, 16; Rahmiyah Henderson, 16; Jamia Davis, 15 and Jonyea Bell, 16, each face aggravated assault, reckless endangerment of another person, harassment, burglary and other offenses, prosecutors said on Friday.

Authorities say that one more suspect – an adult – remains at large. Bond for the four teens was set a $50,000 each.

According to the Inquirer, the video shows one of the girls hitting the woman as she sat on the front step of her Chester, Pa., home earlier this week. That attack was quickly followed by an attack by a pack of a half-dozen girls swarmed in and beat the woman.

The girls then continued beating the woman inside her home, including one assailant who used a shoe to beat the woman. The attack ended after about a minute.

According to police, the victim did not report the crime on the night it happened, but did seek medical attention for cuts and bruises. A parent brought the video to the attention of police after seeing the video on Facebook.

“They beat the bejesus out of her,” said Chester Police Det. James Nolan to the Inquirer. “But the attack was more degrading than physically damaging.”
