Police investigate the death of a maintenance worker found injured in KCMO

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police were called to investigate the death of a maintenance worker in a downtown building Friday night.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Friday emergency personal were called to the south side of the new Century Towers, which is a city owned building located near Independence and Woodland Avenue which houses the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department’s headquarters and also the emergency operations command center for Kansas City. It was there that a maintenance worker was found on a back loading dock with a severe head wound.

Paramedics rushed the man to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The age and identity of the man is still unknown.

Police are calling the scene a death investigation, and are working to determine whether the death was an accident or a homicide.
