Police searching for bowling alley theft suspect caught on video

RAYTOWN, Mo. — People at a Raytown bowling alley are on edge after a man steals parts from their cars in broad daylight, and it was all caught on tape.

That video shows a man crawling underneath cars Saturday afternoon at Premier Bowling Alley.

Police say this man is still on the loose. FOX 4’s Megan Brilley reports owners hope someone will speak up so this doesn’t happen again.

“We put up the surveillance system to protect our customers and protect us,” Owner Laura Do said.

Do and her husband, Min, have owned Premier Bowling Alley for seven years. They haven’t had any issues with crime but keep a close eye on their footage at all times.

As Min was watching, he noticed a stranger appear.

“He saw somebody just walk in,” Do said.

The video shows a man with a blue KC baseball hat walking in to the mechanics room and stealing an air compressor and a hose.

Surveillance video also shows the man driving throughout the parking lot in a dark colored Durango hopping in and out of his car, crawling underneath vehicles and stealing two catalytic converters from customers.

“If it was your car, how would you feel?” said Do.

Owners say their surveillance cameras aren’t hidden.

The scariest part for them, is knowing that someone had no fear of stealing car parts and items from their business, all in plain view.

“He has full guts. I can’t imagine a person would do that in the daylight. He must be desperate to get something for today. I don’t know what a person’s motive is,” she said.

But Do refuses to live quietly in her fear. She hopes someone will see the video and speak up too so that it or something worse doesn’t happen.

“Hopefully somebody will recognize him and put him in custody,” she said.
