KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri police have identified the victim in a possible homicide investigation, who was found dead inside a midtown motel room. Police are calling the woman’s death suspicious.
At the America’s Best Inn and Suites building near Linwood and Broadway, police discovered the body of 49-year-old Brenda E. Anderson. On Saturday, several police cruisers were lined up in front of the motel, which was an unusual scene for the normally quiet hotel.
“Management had located a dead body of a female in one of the rooms here at the hotel,” said Captain Tye Grant, with the Kansas City, Mo. Police Department.
Capt. Grant said police got a call around 10 o’clock Saturday morning about a medical emergency in one of the rooms. But crime scene investigators say it’s much more than that. They’re calling the woman’s death suspicious, and a possible homicide.
“It appears there may have been a disturbance in the room and the way she is does not appear that it`s anything natural,” said Grant.
Grant says it’s too early in the investigation to release a lot of information, like the woman’s name or how old she is. All police are saying, is someone recently checked into the hotel, into the room, and the woman was found dead inside.
“Anything suspicious we`re going to investigate as homicide until the investigation determines otherwise,” said Grant.
