KANSAS CITY, Mo. — If you’re Thanksgiving travel plans include traveling by air, be prepared – you will not be alone.
Travel analysts say that a record 24 million people will be traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday from November 16th through November 27th, with the busiest travel day being Sunday, November 25th.
In addition to busier airports, air fares are expected to be more expensive – up four percent from 2011 – and flights are expected to be packed at 90 percent full. Airlines will also be offering fewer flights, which will cut down on their fuel costs – one of their biggest expenses.
The top three travel days are November 25th, followed by the 21st and the 26th.
