RUSS: The Oscar-winning French film “Amour” is about REAL love…the hard part. 85-year-old Emmanuelle Riva plays a woman who suffers a series of debilitating strokes, leaving her elderly husband, played by Jean-Louis Trintignant, to care for her as she slowly deteriorates.

It’s gut-wrenching, painful and so tough to watch but amazingly effective. One of the best love stories ever in the history of cinema but so grueling you’ll feel the pain as you are watching.

RUSS: “Amour” is an austere, slow-moving and tragic story that’s an ordeal to watch. But the most surprising thing about this acclaimed movie is that audiences seem to appreciate it anyway. It’s a heartbreaking and affecting film.

SHAWN: How did Emmanuelle Riva not win Best Actress? Seriously? This is fantastic cinema. But only if you can endure the trauma and aren’t easily depressed. This movie is so emotional.
