Search on for murder suspects who escaped from Missouri jail

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Authorities in southeast Missouri are searching for two murder suspects and another man who escaped from Butler County Jail, the Associated Press reports.

Police said the men escaped around 11:30 p.m. Monday, exiting through the ceiling. The men, identified as Matthew Brandon Cook, Kade Reaves Stringfellow and Rodney Joe Green, were awaiting trial and are to be considered armed and dangerous.

Cook was charged with first-degree murder in the February shooting death of a man in a McDonald’s parking lot in Advance, Mo., located about 50 miles northeast of Poplar Bluff.

Stringfellow was faced second-degree murder charges in the death of his infant son, and Green was charged with several counts relating to a home invasion in which he is suspected of robbing and shooting a Butler County couple — they survived.
