SHAWNEE, Kan. — Two people are dead following an apparent murder-suicide. Police have identified them as 46-year-old Michael A. Clare and 57-year-old Deborah K. Clare.
The married couple resided in Shawnee and a preliminary investigation has revealed that Michael Clare first shot Deborah Clare and then shot himself. A motive for the shooting is still undetermined according to police.
Police were called to a home near 72nd and Reeder shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said a man called 911 after he returned home and found his parents dead inside.
Authorities said there is no history of police responding to the address for any reason.
