Shooting victim’s family and friends: ‘Do the right thing’

KANSAS City, Mo. — On Sunday, May 13, 2012, it was Mother’s Day and Harry Stone was jogging along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

A car pulled up next to him and someone shot and killed Stone.

Police still haven’t made an arrest in the case, but Stone’s family and friends aren’t giving up hope the shooter will be brought to justice.

On Saturday morning, Stone’s friends hosted a fundraising breakfast at the Ascension Lutheran Church.  They’re trying to raise money for a reward fund, which currently stands at $20,000.

Bobbie Stone, the victim’s wife, believes there are people out there who know what happened.  She wants them to take a cure from Harry’s favorite saying and do the right thing.

“Do the right thing is what Harry always said.  He was a man who believed in the goodness of human nature and he was a man that beleived that if we always do the right thing, and love our neighbor as we love God and ourselves then it will be okay,” she said.

Take a look at the survellance video which was recorded the morning of the shooting.

Police are looking for this car.  If you have any information, call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-T-I-P-S.
