KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Stores around the metro rushed to restock their shelves after a weekend-run on the necessities, as people looked ahead to the Monday and Tuesday storm.
“You can tell that I am a wonderful cook. I am stocking up for the snowstorm with not one-not two- but three pizzas. Frozen,” bragged Carol Kanter.
“We just left another store and it was chaos. And we decided to come here,” said Ivy Fletcher, another shopper.
Store director Guy Steiner said he didn’t see any ugliness or hoarding at the Sunfresh in Westport.
“We don’t usually get snows that are this large,” he said. “So when you get one, it can wipe you out and you need to get replenished. Sometimes the bread companies are scurrying to get as much bread as you need to refill and as much extra bread as folks are buying. They are doing the best they can to get it to us so we have it for the customers.”
