Two in custody following standoff set off by gunshots

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After a suspected shooting and extended standoff, police have taken two black males believed to be in their teens into custody. One of them surrendered peacefully almost three hours after the incident began and the other was found hiding in a kitchen cabinet according to police.

Officers became pitted in what they term a ‘Operation 100’ with the barricaded suspects after a Chinese food deliveryman told police they shot at his vehicle at about 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

The deliveryman said that at least three shots were fired, no injuries have been reported. He said the shooting occurred while he was in the process of a delivery. A police spokesperson indicated that charges are expected to be filed against the suspects on Wednesday.
