BELTON, Mo. — Police arrested a man suspected in the deadly road rage shooting of Benjamin Friend from October 18. Belton police say that 30-year-old Tajudeen Osagie, also known as Harry Mack, is in the city’s jail on Wednesday night and currently charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police say they aren’t looking for any other suspects connected to the crime. The shooting happened in the area of 150 Highway and Prospect just before 6 p.m. on that Tuesday evening. Friend, 37, was rushed to a hospital but did not survive. Friends of the victim previously told FOX 4 he was driving home from work at A.B. May Heating and Cooling when he was shot.
According to a GoFundMe page, he leaves behind a wife and three kids.
“We are trying to raise money for his family to help with all of the unexpected expenses that will arise as a result of this tragedy. Also, part of these funds will be used for the medical expenses for… his daughter. We hope that collectively, we can make things just a little easier during this painful time,” the page, created by someone at Midwest Pathology Associates of Overland Park, says.
According to online court records, Osagie (Mack) served time for four counts of second degree assault, and was released from the Missouri Department of Corrections on October 10, 2014. Due to this felony convictions, he’s prohibited from having a firearm in his possession.
