Suspect enters guilty plea in premeditated Overland Park murder case

OLATHE, Kan. — Christopher Shelton-Jenkins, the man accused of murdering Brandon L. Holmes, 21, who was found shot in his apartment last September, has recently entered a guilty plea to his premeditated first degree murder charge.

Police said Holmes was found shot in the chest in an apartment at the Meadow Hills Apartment Complex, located near 91st and Foster streets on the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 20. Holmes, Shelton-Jenkins and Shelton-Jenkins’ wife were said to have all lived in the same apartment together.

The District Court has set a sentencing date of October 3, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Assistant District Attorneys Keith Henderson and Laura Smith prosecuted this case.
