Suspects attempt to flee police on two flat tires, arrested in Nemaha County

BUCHANAN COUNTY, Mo. — Two men face several charges after an altercation with law enforcement officers in Buchanan County over the weekend.

Trenton Wiseman, 23, was charged with possession of stolen property, interference with a law enforcement officer and eluding police. Jacob Abney, 29, was charged with possession of stolen property and interference with law enforcement.

Police said Wiseman and Abney were wanted out of Buchanan County, Mo., for stolen vehicles and weapons charges and fled into Atchison. Officers pursued the suspects from the Missouri-Kansas bridge in Atchison. The suspects lost both passenger side tires in Atchison County and still managed to drive the pickup to the bridge.

Atchison police officers and Atchison Sheriff’s deputies apprehended the driver when the suspect vehicle became stuck on a mud road in Nemaha County. The passenger jumped from the vehicle about a mile east of where the truck stopped. The passenger was found in a ravine in a field about 700 yards north of the roadway with the assistance of the Highway patrol K-9 unit and other officers from surrounding agencies.
