AURORA, Colo. — Families of those who lost loved ones at the Aurora movie theater shooting in July have received an invite from Cinemark to attend the theater’s reopening, sister station KDVR-TV reported.
The theater is scheduled to reopen Jan. 17.
On Wednesday, KDVR-TV obtained a copy of a response letter from families, calling the company’s invitation “disgusting.”

“You (Cinemark) have shown, and continue to show, ZERO compassion to the families of the victims whose loved one were killed in that theater,” the letter reads. “You, Cinemark, have never once reached out to the families to offer condolences.”
The letter concludes with a promise that the involved families will push for a boycott of the Aurora theater reopening event.
