KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Friends and family of two people shot to death in a Kansas City, Kansas, apartment gathered for a candlelight vigil on Thursday evening, a day after three suspects in the shooting were taken into custody.
Re’Nesha Jones, 16, and Keith Barret, 21, were killed early Sunday morning inside the apartment in the 2100 block of South Mill Street. Barret’s 6-month-old son was also wounded in the attack.
On Wednesday, authorities took three men, ages 19, 20 and 21, into custody for the homicide. The identities of the suspects have not been released, but authorities say that they could be charged as soon as Friday.
Police have not released a motive in the slayings.
