Two men charged with 2nd degree murder for death of man shot several times

Ronald Pruitt was found inside a residence in the 8100 block of Blue Ridge Blvd. after being shot multiple times.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two Kansas City men have been charged in the Oct. 5, 2015, homicide of Ronald Pruitt, 35, who was found inside a residence in the 8100 block of Blue Ridge Blvd. after being shot multiple times.

Jeremiah Ingram,  21, and Rowdy D. Davis, 30, each face Felony Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.*

According to court records, both defendants were convicted felons who were involved in the shooting of Pruitt while both of them were in possession of a firearm. Prosecutors say the men were committing a felony when they shot Pruitt.

This is the first time, to the knowledge of the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, that an Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon has been used in this jurisdiction as the underlying felony for a charge of Felony Murder 2nd Degree. Prosecutors requested a bond of $250,000 for each defendant.
