RALEIGH, N.C. — In Raleigh, WNCN-TV reports that in one day, more than 3,000 drivers failed to stop for school buses on their routes, dropping off and picking up children throughout North Carolina.

The violations happened when the buses’ stop arms were extended, according to the state Department of Public Instruction.

The data was collected on a day in March.

In one county, according to WNCN-TV, 47 per cent of the school buses were passed when their arm was extended. Click here for more from WNCN’s report.

Following the WNCN report, others began tweeting #Brake4Buses. And as a reminder, it’s a law in both Kansas and Missouri to stop for buses when their stop arm is out.
