Wayside Waifs rescues 12 dogs in Dearborn

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Twelve dogs from Dearborn, Mo., were taken in by Wayside Waifs after their owner contacted the shelter and asked for help.

According to Wayside Waifs the dogs were living outdoors in extreme heat. The eight adult dogs and four puppies of various sizes and breeds were flea infested. Some of the puppies were still nursing.

“Because they are bottle-feeds, the puppies will go to a foster home sometime today,” Tyler Perry, foster program manager said on Wednesday.

Once all the adult animals have received medical and behavior evaluations, they can be placed for adoption.

Wayside Waifs is one of Kansas City’s no-kill shelters. They are located at 3901 Martha Truman Road in Kansas City, Mo.
